Don't call it a return

I've decided to come back to the blog and write more after a 3-4 month layoff. It wasn't that I didn't have enough time for writing, I just haven't been inspired much lately. But, maybe lack of inspiration is enough inspiration. I'm starting to see "inspiration" as a negative factor in writing and life. Inspiration is a negating factor in original thought. If I had a favorite poet, and read all of his poetry, and then decided to write poety, the next logical thought would be that my poety would resemble his, in one way or another. In the world that we live in today where so much of our lives are controled, by laws, government, techonology, culture, society, our thoughts are one place where we are free. To be influeced by outside sources cuts into that freedom. Too much our lives is already influenced. Practically everything we do is controled by outside influences. How we dress, how we earn a living, how we relax is influenced by different mediums. Everything I have said or will say is not a complete original thought. True creative genius is born in isolation. The best way to write is to do so in the absence of influence in the absence of inspiration. Its genius to adapt, but unique to invent...
